David Crosby: Remember My Name
“David Crosby reflects on his life of music stardom, while forging new oaths to relevancy at his age of 77 in this deeply personal documentary.”
"David Crosby: Remember My Name" is a deeply personal and unflinchingly honest documentary that explores the life and creative renaissance of music icon David Crosby at age 77. Facing an uncertain future after the 2015 dissolution of Crosby, Stills and Nash, and racked with health issues including heart attacks and a liver transplant, Crosby forged a new path by collaborating with younger musicians and recording critically-praised new albums.
With remarkable candor, Crosby reflects on his storied career from his groundbreaking work with The Byrds through the formation of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, his solo artistry, and his tumultuous personal journey marked by addiction, relationship struggles, and survival against the odds.
The documentary doesn't shy away from Crosby's darker chapters, as he openly discusses how his anger and ego damaged lifelong friendships with former bandmates, revealing that none of his closest creative collaborators—including Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, Neil Young, and Roger McGuinn—will speak to him. Yet the film also captures his enduring passion for music, his devotion to his wife Jan Dance, and his determination to remain relevant in a world vastly different from the generation he helped define in the 1960s.
Blending archival footage with contemporary performances and deeply reflective interviews, the film presents Crosby as both a romantic witness to the counterculture era and a cautionary tale about the costs of excess, while celebrating his undiminished vocal powers and continued artistic vitality.
